LIGHT WEIGHT SKI BLANK

After over 4 years of R & D and proto typing now available a truly different light weight ski. Weighting in at 6 to 6 ½ lbs, sporting mass centralization of the weight, what that means is nearly three quarters of the total weight is in the rear one third of the ski leaving a feather light front on two thirds of the board.

As an unbelievable fringe benefit, the new ski is proving to be nearly indestructible, the use of new lay up methods and the latest of space age materials seem to be making our new ski blank bullet proof. It comes with a full replacement 1- year warranty with an extended warranty available.

As a recreational novice rider what does that mean to me. Novice riders instantly notice a huge improvement in their control slaloming, responsiveness of the ski, higher jumping, easier, smoother landings. Without all the excessive cantilevered weight normally in front of the seat on all other ski blanks manufactured without mass centralization. As a high-end rider what does this new ski mean to me?

Pro and high-end riders immediately fall in love with the new ride. All instantly discover that the most difficult maneuvers quickly become routine, and all agree aerial rotation becomes smoother and easier to control. Extra altitude because of quicker foil response due to much less cantilevered front tip weight is also enjoyed. Most believe rotation reversal in mid air is just around the corner.

All novas, high end, and pro riders agree that no one can appreciate or believe the huge improvement to the sport until you have experience you first flight.

Included with your ski blank purchase is correct binding screw’s that MUST be used. Ski Blank can be ordered with binding location 1 ½” forward from stock location. (Not further back.) Complete binding sets are available, but not required.

Correct-Billet Machined stainless steel D-Nuts, stainless steel button head screws and stainless steel flat washers also come standard.

NOTE: Some after market “T” bars may need to be slightly trimmed to fit the standard Air Chair strut hole in the board, and to prevent “T” bar contact with the board in the event of tic tocking of the foil, a common occurrence in sandwich style seats. If a sandwich style seat is used a full sized crush plate between the seat and board will be necessary due to the small footprint of the seat. If an Air Chair seat is used no plate is necessary.

Balance Test

This picture shows two Air Chairs identically equipped hanging on a broomstick, note balance point is clear back at the seat. The Air Chair on the RIGHT is our standard ski, and the one on the LEFT is our new Carbon lightweight one.

The standard ski blank weights 9.6 lbs while the Carbon lightweight ski blank weights 6.4 lbs, although being lighter is good the standard ski blank just like all ski manufacture's has the entire weight of ski equal from the tip to the tail, if the lightweight ski was made the same way the best rider in the world would notice little difference between lightweight and standard ski blanks during performing.

This takes us back to the picture above. The Carbon lightweight board has a custom lay-up schedule that moves 4.4 lbs back to the rear one third of the board leaving only two pounds on front two thirds. Our stock ski using the industry standard lay-up schedule weights 9.6 lbs. The rear one third is 2.8 lbs and the front two thirds is 6.8 lbs. The way the weight is distributed on the lightweight board is 100% more important in performance and ease of control than the over all weight.

During the first ride the high end rider will quickly realize this ski is the biggest improvement in the equipment since the sport was introduced by Air Chair over twenty years ago. The beginner also will notice a huge difference although being much more responsive with the Carbon light weight ski. The new rider will immediately realize it is much easier to control.
